Organic matter oxidation of the Tégulines Clay formation, (Paris Basin, France): Spatial Heterogeneities

چکیده

Samples of Albian Tégulines Clay outcropping near Brienne-le-Château in the eastern part Paris Basin were subjected to a geochemical characterization organic matter (OM), combining OM bulk Rock-Eval analysis (RE), petrography and molecular analysis. In this study, objective was investigate oxidation natural critical zone developed early reduced marine clay formation. For that purpose, core samples from three boreholes crosscutting formation down Greensands selected. Several meters Brienne marls preserved atmosphere therefore high weathering AUB240 borehole, whereas weathered their upper AUB1010 AUB230 as result vicinity surface. The results showed Total Organic Carbon (TOC) contents all clays are very low, ranging between 0.3 0.7 wt%. RE data Tmax parameter indicate is immature. shows predominance gel-like amorphous by sulphurisation anoxic environments. show similar characteristics. at top contains large amounts oxidized lignocellulosic debris has Oxygen-Index values. first 10 m clays, bulk, revealed oxidative events (high OI contents). Below m, almost preserved. little functionalized seems be slightly reactive but not negligibly with inorganic fractions presence oxygen.

Gas Geochemistry of the Dogger Geothermal Aquifer ( Paris Basin , France )

The low enthalpy program developped in the Paris Basin provides the opportunity for studying the gas geochemistry of the calcareous aquifer of the Dogger. Hydrocarbons and C02 are mainly biogenic, He displays high concentrations. He, Ar and N2 have multiple origins (radioactive decay, atmospheric migration, biochemical processes). The distribution of the gases in the zones of the basin varies i...

Role of organic matter, clay, and iron contents in the sorption of oxytetracycline on river sediments

Background: Oxytetracycline (OTC) is a widely-used antibiotic; metabolism studies indicate only partial assimilation of it inside the body. Traditional wastewater treatment plants cannot remove OTC, and this results in the release of considerable amounts of the drug into aquatic environments. There is much concern over the role of residual antibiotics in the development of new generations of ba...

Reactive transport modelling of carbonate cementation in a deep saline aquifer, the Middle Jurassic Oolithe Blanche Formation, Paris Basin, France

The Oolithe Blanche Formation (Bathonian, Middle Jurassic) is one of the deep saline aquifers of the Paris Basin in France. The spatial distribution of its reservoir properties (porosity, permeability, tortuosity, etc.) is now better known with relatively homogeneous properties, except for some levels in the central part of the basin, where permeability exhibits higher values. This spatial dist...

Fossil echinoid (Echinoidea, Echinodermata) diversity of the Early Cretaceous (Hauterivian) in the Paris Basin (France)

This dataset inventories occurrence records of fossil echinoid specimens collected in the Calcaires à Spatangues Formation (CSF) that crops out in the southeast of the Paris Basin (France), and is dated from the Acanthodiscus radiatus chronozone (ca. 132 Ma, early Hauterivian, Early Cretaceous). Fossil richness and abundance of the CSF has attracted the attention of palaeontologists since the m...

The Association between Organic Matter and Clay Minerals in Carbonaceous

Introduction: There is an established relationship between organic matter content and aqueous alteration processes [1,2]. However, the relationship between meteoritic organic matter and individual aqueously generated mineral matrix phases is poorly understood. Meteoritic organic matter is primarily composed of C, H and N and therefore their bulk abundances in chondrites are strongly controlled ...
